Remote antennas are a great way to increase RF strength.  However if you mount the antennas any distance from the receivers, there will be significant RF loss in the cable between the antenna and receiver.  This loss can be made up by using inline RF amplifiers, or active antennas.

Passive splitters have a certain amount of loss, but if your antennas are currently buried inside your rack and you fit a passive splitter to the top of the rack you have about the same amount of RF signal.


Active antenna dividers allow a single pair of antennas to feed 4 or more receivers with no signal loss.
